What’s posted

Kings County's Community Development Agency page lists four named pre-approved SJV ADU plans (375, 550, 743, and 908 sq. ft.), each with its own CivicPlus document-ID download link, plus a Plan Requirements doc and a Disclaimer/Indemnity Agreement with real pre-approval disclaimer language.

IMPORTANT: countyofkingsca.gov (Hanford, CA) is the real agency; countyofkings.ca is actually Kings County, Nova Scotia (Canadian site that surfaces in search due to the identical name) and was discarded as a false lead. Direct fetch of countyofkingsca.gov 403'd; used r.jina.ai proxy twice on the Community Development Agency page and got consistent results both times (same 4 named plans, same disclaimer text, same document-ID links). The individual plan PDFs themselves returned empty/blocked content through both direct fetch and proxy, so the binary files could not be visually confirmed, but the agency page's structured catalog with real CivicPlus ShowPublishedDocument links and specific disclaimer language was independently re-verified.

Any other agency can adopt these plans

Cal. Gov. Code § 65852.27, added by Stats. 2023, ch. 759, amended by Stats. 2024, ch. 7 (SB 477) (§ 65852.27(a)(5)) lets any California local agency admit into its own program plans “A local agency may also admit the following accessory dwelling unit plans into the program: (A) Plans that have been developed and preapproved by the local agency. (B) Plans that have been preapproved by other agencies within the state.” A city or county without a preapproval program of its own can post County of Kings’s plans as part of its own program instead of designing new ones — see the full statewide catalog for more options.

We build and maintain the program page, the plan library and the required third-party submission path for agencies that want to stand this up: $1,950 setup + $3,600/year (year one all-in $5,550).
